Eight years since I left the corporate world and followed my passion. ✈️

2015 - We welcomed our first child to Sparkle. 👼

2016 - My personal story went viral across the media. 📔

2017 - We held the first colour run ever in Malawi which saw over 500 children in our community take part. 🇲🇼

2018 - You helped me raise £15,000 in my first ever London Marathon to provide Sparkle with electricity. 🏃‍♀️

2019 - We saw over 60 volunteers visit Sparkle from 12 different countries - our most ever in a year! 🌍

2020 - Covid changed the way we did business but despite the challenges more than 250 volunteers supported us remotely with over £200,000 worth of pro-bono support. 😷

2021 - We raised £100,000 in our first ever UK Sparkle ball. Our largest ever fundraiser. 🎉

2022 - We became the first charity to register in the UAE for Malawi, let alone Africa - launching at Expo2020. 🥇

2023 - We were the first charity to respond to Cyclone Freddy in Malawi which saw us support over 15,000 people. 🌀

We are a charity of firsts and we are just getting started. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far.

Remember no matter how big or small, as one person you can make a difference and together - we can help change the world and that’s exactly what we intend to do.

When I grow up I want to be a footballer….. ⚽️

Never have any of our children at @the.sparkle.foundation ever said that, especially not our girls.

But we can now dare to dream thanks to superstars like @bethmead_ who are paving the way for women in sport around the world.

@arsenalwfc, @lionesses, @bbcsport personality of the year, @fifawomensworldcup champion, football player of the year… the list is endless of what she has achieved.

What a motivating morning hearing Beth’s journey through @cognitaschools and realising that resilience and hard work, regardless of what field of work you are in, are the key ingredients to being successful.

So let’s continue to support and uplift each other, championing the cause of women in sport and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

The power or a smile 😃

Four years ago @nadinebronwasser and I met at @shawellness in Spain.

I told her about @the.sparkle.foundation and last year she brought her partner @hubertan1968 to volunteer in Malawi.

She said the trip was ‘life changing!’

Six months later they held a fundraiser in Amsterdam @lepainquotidiennl with their family and friends where I was invited to speak about my journey.

Of course my parents came along as my number one supporters and we enjoyed spreading the Sparkle for the first time in the Netherlands.

Over €25,000 euros was raised on the night. Hubert through his family charity has also contributed over €5,000 to enable 300 of our community members to undergo cardiac assessments.

This was a random encounter made because Nadine and I smiled at one another across separate dinner tables.

That smile will enable 15,000 lives to be changed.

Never underestimate the power of connections. Well and truly blown away by these two incredible humans.
